✨ What Our Scorecard Does
The Sabrient Scorecard is a powerful digital tool designed to help you quickly identify high-quality stock opportunities. It analyzes roughly 4,000 U.S. stocks and ranks them from strongest to weakest based on Sabrient’s proprietary factor models.

This ranking system was developed by David Brown and the analyst team at Sabrient Systems, and it is also highlighted in David’s book 'Moon Rocks to Power Stocks'. Their research forms the backbone of the Scorecard, giving you a simplified way to tap into complex quantitative analysis without needing to be a financial expert.
With a monthly or yearly subscription, you’ll get 30 top-ranked stocks for each of four investing styles every single week!
🧩The Sabrient Complex Factors
The Scorecard uses nine proprietary ranking factors developed by Sabrient to evaluate over 4,000 U.S. stocks. These factors are split into Primary and Secondary groups.

1. Primary Factors (Drive the Main Rankings)
These are the “core engine” of the Scorecard. They drive the main rankings for Growth, Value, Dividend, and Small Cap.
  • GARP – Growth at a reasonable price
  • EQR – Equal Quality Rank
  • GQR – Growth Quality Rank
  • SVR – Strategic Valuation Rank
  • SGR – Strategic Growth Rank
  • DIV – Dividend Rank
  • Sort by any factor to see which stocks score highest
  • Weight the factors you care about (for example, heavier on valuation or growth)
  • Re-sort after weighting to create your own custom ranking
  • Perfect for investors who want more control over how stocks are evaluated
2. Secondary Factors (Show Momentum + Market Behavior)
These help you time entries and understand market behavior. They give you insight into how a stock moves under various market conditions.
  • AMR — Aggregate Momentum Rank
  • BULL — Bull Market Rank
  • BEAR — Bear Market Rank
  • Use AMR to check a stock’s current momentum trend
  • Use BULL to see which stocks thrive when the market is rising
  • Use BEAR to see which stocks hold up better in down or stagnant markets

🤝 About Us
Sabrient Systems LLC is an independent equity research firm and registered investment advisor best known for its “Baker’s Dozen” stock portfolios.

Sabrient uses the scientific method to build robust, predictive, quantitative stock-evaluation models that underlie a variety of portfolio strategies. The company also uses the models to produce actionable equity research, rankings, tools, and rules-based indexes.

The company was founded by David Brown, a former engineer in NASA’s Apollo moon landing program, and is led today by CEO Scott Martindale, a former engineer with Chevron Corporation.
David Brown’s early work at NASA in physics and computer modeling became the basis for his data-driven investing approach.

After NASA, David founded and led multiple financial technology companies, including Telescan, a pioneering stock analysis platform later acquired by TD Ameritrade. He later founded Sabrient Systems, serving as Chief Market Strategist and spearheading the development of multifactor investing models used by investors and institutions.

David has authored several investing books and continues to advance systematic, rules-based investing strategies.
Scott Martindale began his career in the oil industry, working for Chevron Corporation, serving as a civil/structural design engineer and environmental compliance engineer for offshore oil & gas production, as well as senior analyst and operations manager in the oil shipping segment.

He joined Sabrient Systems leadership team in 2003 and became CEO in 2019. He guides company strategy, product development, institutional sales, business development, and client relations. He also writes regular in-depth market commentaries, including the Sector Detector monthly market letter. For example, below is a theoretical simulation of our Growth Strategy.
This is a 23-year (2003-2025) theoretical simulation of a model portfolio. It was reconstituted in the middle of each calendar quarter using the top 30 stocks from the latest Growth Investing rankings. It shows a 17.7% average annual gross total return, assuming reinvested dividends, versus 11.4% for the S&P 500. It also shows 26.0% average annual return over the past 3 years (vs. 22.9% for the S&P 500) and 17.7% over the past 5 years (vs. 14.4% for the S&P 500). Hypothetical back test results are neither an indicator nor a guarantee of future returns. Actual results will vary from the analysis.
